You can purchase single sessions or packs of one-on-one sessions through your Joyful online account or app. We recommend contacting us at: hello@joyfulpilates.com.au prior to purchasing one-on-one packs so we can discuss your goals, requirements and assist to pair you up with the perfect trainer for your individual needs.

Do I need to book into a class or can I just show up?

We recommend booking into the class you want to attend in advance. Our capacity is limited and as our classes fill up quickly you may find you miss out on a spot if you show up without a booking.

What is the Joyful cancellation policy?

If you cancel 9 hours or more before your booked class start time you will receive the class credit back on your account to rebook for next time. If you cancel your class within the 9 hour window you will be charged for the class you have booked. We remind all clients to please be considerate of others and cancel any bookings you know you will be unable to attend even if it is inside the 9 hour cancelation window. When you cancel you open up a spot for someone else to book into that class,

What happens if I miss a class I’ve booked in for?

If you miss a session you will be charged unless you cancelled prior to the 9 hours before class start time. If there is an emergency or you suddenly become unwell we will ask for a medical certificate and once received will reinstate the class you have missed. Please note that cancellations are the responsibility of the person who booked the class and must be completed online in your MindBody account or via the Joyful Pilates app. We do not accept cancellation requests via social media, text, voicemail or email.

What if I am late for a class?

Our doors lock for safety and security once class has started. If you are late for your session you may be refused entry or your spot may be offered to another client on the waitlist. You can email us hello@joyfulpilates.com.au to discuss any classes missed due to being late.

How do the waitlists work?

When a class is fully booked you can join the waitlist. If another client cancels their booking you will be notified by email and/or text message that you have been added to the class. You can respond to this email and/or text with a YES or a NO to attending the session. If you don’t respond at all we will assume you are a YES and you’ll be added to the session.

I’m new to Joyful Pilates: (Hello new friend!)

I’ve never tried Pilates before – can I join a Joyful class?

Yes! We have classes suitable for all ages, levels, sizes and abilities. Our knowledgeable Joyful Trainers are able to offer regressions, progressions, modifications and alternatives to ensure you finish each session feeling accomplished, confident and empowered.

What is the best style of class if I am new?

We recommend attending a minimum of 5 Joyful Pilates or Joyful Zen classes if you are new to Pilates. These classes move at a slower pace and will introduce you to basic foundation movements and teach you how to activate the correct muscles whilst safely using the Allegro 2 reformer.

What is the best style of class if I have an injury?

If you have an injury please get clearance from your doctor or medical professional prior to attending class. Our Joyful Pilates and Joyful Zen classes are slower paced sessions and offer the safest environment for those who may need more exercise alternatives, modifications, regressions, one-on-one corrections and adjustments. Our other Joyful classes may also be suitable for you depending on your type of injury. We recommend contacting us at: hello@joyfulpilates.com.au if you would like personalised advice about which session to book into.

Can I attend class if I am pregnant?

You can attend all Joyful Pilates classes during your first trimester of pregnancy. After this point we require a doctor’s clearance and upin receiving this you are welcome to continue attending sessions. We recommend booking into our Joyful Pilates classes for the remainder of your pregnancy. Always notify your trainer at each class so they can include any required modifications for pregnancy. Any information about your pregnancy will be kept confidential and modifications will be delivered by your trainer with care and discretion. Please note that a doctors approval is needed for high risk pregnancies.

What do I need to do/know before my first class?

Create your MindBody account online or via the Joyful Pilates app. Purchase your class pack and book a spot in the session you would like to attend. Please arrive 5-10minutes early for your first class to allow time to meet your trainer, fill out any waiver forms required, go to the bathroom and familiarise yourself with the studio. Let your trainer know about any past or present injuries so they can cater to you in the session if required. We recommend wearing something stretchy and comfortable to class. Please bring a drink bottle and a pair of socks with you.

What do I need to bring to the studio for class?

Bring a drink bottle, towel and pair of Pilates grip socks. We have a water bubbler available in the studio however we do not supply plastic cups or bottles. We have Joyful drink bottles, towels and Pilates socks available for purchase if you do forget to bring your own to class. Please note that for hygiene reasons and to care for our Allegro Reformers we cannot allow anyone into classes without socks. Please bring socks with you or you can purchase a pair from the studio. No socks, no play.

Do you have lockers?

We have lockers in each studio. Please leave all your belongings in your locker while class is running to ensure our trainers and other clients don’t trip on them.

Can I have my phone with me during class?

We encourage you to leave your phone in your locker during class times so you can be fully present in each session. If you need your phone for work or personal reasons (eg you are a doctor on call) then you are welcome to have your phone with you provided it is on silent mode and tucked away face down underneath your reformer. If you need to take a call or text we respectfully ask you to leave the studio prior to answering out of curtesy for other clients and trainers.
